With a GT3-inspired body made entirely out of carbon fibre, this custom F12 looks downright menacing.
Created by the virtually unknown Spanish design house Bengala, the “Caballería” kit swaps out the F12berlinetta’s body for much more aggressive-looking panels made entirely from carbon fibre to reduce weight. The people behind the project are saying they took inspiration from Ferrari’s GT3 race cars when designing the extravagant body kit, which radically changes the supercar’s appearance from virtually all angles.
Bengala has not said anything about the weight loss brought by the full-on carbon treatment, so we don’t know how much fat it was able to shave off compared to the regular F12berlinetta. In standard configuration, the prancing horse from Maranello tips the scales at 1,525 kilograms (3,362 pounds). To get an idea about the weight loss, another relatively unknown design house that goes by the name of Vitesse AuDessus has a 100 percent carbon fibre body kit for the beefier F12tdf. In this case, the Tour de France supercar, which is already 110 kg (242 lbs) lighter than the regular F12berlinetta, loses almost 159 kg (350 pounds).
The considerable diet should enable the car to go from 0 - 100 kilometres per hour (0 - 62 miles per hour) in approximately three seconds taking into account the regular model needs 3.1 seconds. Perhaps it’s even able to match the F12tdf and its 2.9-second sprint performance.
Ferrari F12berlinetta owners should know Bengala wants to keep the “Caballería” package exclusive as only 10 conversion kits are planned at a yet undisclosed price tag. Production of all carbon fibre bodies will come to an end in the summer of 2017.
We checked out the design house’s website and discovered it also has a series of customization options for just about all of the current Rolls-Royce models on sale today. Interestingly, Bengala has teamed up with the aforementioned Vitesse AuDessus to create some of these aftermarket bits, including forged carbon fibre wheels priced from an eye-watering $21,500 per set.
