Avocado Green and Butterscotch makes for a winning combination

The Datsun 240Z is a timeless sports car. Dashing good looks and a respectable 151 horsepower led to the company selling over 135,000 of them between 1971 and 1973.

Sadly, it’s been over 40 years since we’ve seen one come out of a factory brand new. But if there’s one that comes close, it’s this stunningly beautiful example finished in an original Avocado Green exterior and Butterscotch vinyl interior. It’s for sale on eBay in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for a cool $13,500 (approx. $17,400 CAD).

The original inline six-cylinder engine and manual gearbox remain. Just 68,500 original miles (110,240 kilometres) have been clocked on the odometer, and most components are in working order. A few minor faults include a worn clutch, an A/C that doesn’t blow cold air, and a broken speedometer.

The exterior of the car was given a respray 10 years ago following some minor patchwork, but retains the original Avocado Green paint job that came on the car new in 1973. Pair that with a set of American Racing Libre wheels, and it makes for one of the most beautiful setups you’ll find on a Z car.

The interior was given a once-over as well - new door panels, seat covers, and very groovy sisal floor mats to keep that '70s feel. All in all, it’s a beautifully done classic the seller says, “you would be proud to show up in at a local car show.”
