50th anniversary of Ford's historic Le Mans win honored in Monterey.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Ford's historic victory at Le Mans. The GT40 became a racing legend, and its spirit lives on today in the GT supercar. At this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the GT40 is honored as a special class, and 16 of the historic racers are featured here today.
Seeing one GT40 is rare enough – seeing 16 together is a huge treat. Hence the gallery of GT40s below, showing cars from 1964 to 1968, owned by both private customers and big companies. Of particular note, we love the gold No. 5 car, owned by Claude and Sylvie Nahum of Switzerland, which was part of the GT40's historic 1-2-3 finish at Le Mans. Of course, every GT40 here looks good, especially in the car's iconic Gulf livery.
