Naturally-aspirated V12 engine will live on.
While the development car is still wearing tons of camouflage, it’s easy to see the overall body shape won’t change and the car will retain its distinctive profile. Behind the disguise, Ferrari is probably hiding some interesting aerodynamic tweaks, similar to those on the limited-edition F12 tdf.
There’s one thing we already know for sure – the facelifted F12 Berlinetta won’t take the turbo path, as it will continue to be powered by a naturally-aspirated V12 engine. The 6.3-litre unit of the current model will be improved to deliver somewhere in the region of 760 horsepower, making it significantly more powerful.
The range-topping GT car in the current Ferrari lineup will also get a revised dual-clutch automatic transmission and possibly a four-wheel steering system. All these upgrades will help the car reach 100 kilometres per hour (62 miles per hour) from a standstill in less than three seconds.
Rumoured to get the F12 M moniker, the front-engined supercar is expected to get a revised interior featuring a dual-screen infotainment layout, as seen in the GT4C Lusso, along with a raft of other updates for the cabin.
We don’t have anything official yet, but we do believe the car will be ready for an official online premiere early next year and a public debut at the upcoming 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Look for a market launch next summer at prices starting at slightly higher rates than the current F12 Berlinetta, according to Autocar.
A brand new generation of the model is rumoured to arrive in 2019, bringing lower weight more than 804 hp from its 12-cylinder engine.
