Lamborghini is paying tribute to the lovely Miura with 50 special Aventadors, but Hong Kong is only getting this Verde Scandal example.
The Huracan Avio with an aviation theme made its debut in Hong Kong at the beginning of August, and now Lamborghini’s local division has introduced yet another special model. This time around, it’s based on the bigger Aventador and serves as a celebration for the Miura’s 50th birthday. The one and only Aventador Miura Homage in HK specification wears a Verde Scandal (solid green) paint with matte silver accents and is available for a hefty HK$8,000,000 (approximately $1.38M CAD), including tax.
Worldwide, 50 raging bulls created by Lamborghini’s Ad Personam studio are being offered with colours and specifications representing a nod to the gorgeous Miura. These come with an upper body painted in one color and combined with a contrasting hue for the lower section of the body. All vehicles ride on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Dione wheels painted in either gold or matte silver.
To make it a tad more special than the regular Aventador, Lamborghini’s logo at the back comes in black, while a metallic Miura badge adorns the side skirts. On the inside, buyers get to pick from Nero Ade or Terra Emilia leather upholstery with tone-on-tone stitching, and all cars come with a carbon fiber package, “Lamborghini” lettering on the leather-wrapped dashboard, and the “Miura 50th” logo stitched into the upper part of the seat in either silver or gold. As a final touch, there’s a fancy plate in the cabin to further denote it’s not the run-of-the-mill Aventador.
The Miura Homage is all about cosmetic tweaks, so there aren’t any changes to the naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12. It still produces 700 horsepower and 507 pound-feet of torque, enough for a 0 - 100 km/h run in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h.
Lamborghini did launch a special edition Aventador with extra power three years ago, the Anniversario in both coupe and roadster flavors with an additional 20 hp to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary.
