The party begins even before you make it inside the 2016 SEMA Show with show cars and drifting demos galore
The 2016 SEMA Show occupies roughly a million square feet of trade show floor and trust us, we have the sore muscles and joints to prove it. However, it doesn’t really end there because the SEMA Show spills outside to include a couple hundred more show vehicles, booths and a crowd favourite demo track called the Ford Out Front experience. As the official entrance to the show, many killer customs are placed out front distracting attendees before they even enter the show itself.
While this year seemed to be dominated by lifted trucks and various rolling-coal rigs (thanks to wheel manufacturer American Force, more on that later), there were some stand-out hits. Outside the entrance to the Wheel and Tire Hall, there was a barrage of highly modified exotics and luxury vehicles in every customized style imaginable. In front of the busy Performance Hall entrance there were everything from classic BMWs with meek naturally aspirated motors to ridiculous 1,000+ horsepower supercars read to hit triple digit speeds in single digit times.
And then there was the demo track where Ford was showcasing the drifting RTR Mustangs of pro drifters Justin Pawlak, Vaughn Gittin Jr., and Matt Powers. Ford also brought out a custom-built F-150 Super Crew with four-passenger drifting ride-alongs to show-off for the crowd. With action happening basically non-stop, the demo area was the zone to hit up to take all the action in.
The Silver Lot, Ford Out Front and all the show car magic in between was captured in our mega gallery, a virtual tour of everything you missed if you couldn’t make it to the 50th anniversary SEMA Show.
