It's worth noting that overall throughout the country, Honda had a full 24.6 percent more quotes then its next-closest competitor.
Take a look at your nearest parking lot today, or glance around as you drive down the highway, and you're bound to see a lot of Honda vehicles. That's not surprising, considering insurance and financial technology company Kanetix has announced the Japanese brand is by far the most quoted car company across Canada. What may be more interesting is that only one premium brand made it on the list, and only one province in the country doesn't have Honda in the top spot.
Kanetix broke down the quotes in three provinces - Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta - as well as in Atlantic Canada. While Honda was the top quote-getter in Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada, Alberta was lead by Ford, finishing well ahead of Honda, as the Blue Oval had 22.6 percent more quotes. Alberta was also the only province with Jeep in its top 10, with that brand placing in ninth, ahead of Volkswagen but behind Mazda.
It's worth noting that overall throughout the country, Honda had a full 24.6 percent more quotes then its next-closest competitor. That's some serious brand power, people.
While there weren't too many surprises in Ontario, it was the only province with a luxury brand on its list. BMW managed to make it onto the list, finishing in 10th place in the province, behind Volkswagen.
Considering the Civic and F-150 are perennial sales stars every year in Canada, it should come as little surprise that Honda and Ford are so high up on the Kanetix lists. Same goes for Toyota and Hyundai, whose Corolla and Elantra, respectively, were in the top three for passenger car sales in 2016.
We're curious: what makes did you research the last time you were in the market for a vehicle? Was Honda anywhere on your list?
