Next model slated to debut this year.
Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations recently opened a new $26 million Technical Center near Coventry, England, and now the company has announced that investment will pay the way for an assortment of new SVR models.
In an interview with Autocar, JLR SVO revealed the performance-oriented brand will launch one new SVR model per year until 2020. The company already produces the Jaguar F-Type SVR, Range Rover Sport SVR, and Range Rover SVAutobiography, but those models will be soon joined by another vehicle. Nothing is official but speculation suggests the mystery model will be unveiled before the end of the year and be based on a Land Rover product.
Future SVR models will be built in a new 215,278 square foot facility was draws inspiration from a Formula 1 engineering center. The facility is split into four main zones including a manufacturing facility, a paint facility, a technical suite, and a VIP commissioning area with viewing suites.
The latter section will allow customers to visit the Technical Center so they can explore the "infinite range of possibilities for creating and customizing their own Jaguar or Land Rover vehicle." To assist in the process, a member of the Jaguar or Land Rover design team will be on hand to help customers create the ideal vehicle that suits their needs.
