The tuner wants $105,000 USD for its high-powered pony car.
Hennessey is known the world over for its monstrous muscle car and supercar builds (among other things). One of its more recent projects, the 2016 Ford Mustang HPE800, celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Texas tuner–and one is up for grabs on eBay for a cool $105,000 USD (about $137,000 CAD).
So what exactly is this pony packing? Under the hood is a highly-tuned version of Ford’s 5.0-litre V8. A 2.9-litre supercharger being the most significant upgrade, with things like a carbon fiber high-flow air induction system, an upgraded fuel pump system, and an axle-back exhaust system adding to the drama of it all.
Total output is 804 horsepower and 648 lb-ft torque. From a dead stop, this thing will do 0-60 in just 3.1 seconds, conquer the quarter mile in just 10.7 seconds at 133 miles per hour (214 kilometres per hour), and continue on to a top speed of 207.9 mph (334.5 km/h) before it runs out of tarmac.
Accenting all that newfound power is a more assertive exterior package. A carbon fibre front splitter, side sills, and rear lip spoiler give it a more aggressive stance, while the standard Ford wheels have been swapped out for lighter Hennessey H10 20-inch wheels.
As mentioned, this particular vehicle celebrates Hennessey’s 25th anniversary. It’s one of only 25 examples being built, features some special anniversary badging on the exterior, and comes with a 25th anniversary certificate of authenticity from Hennessey.
Whatever your opinion on the Texas tuner, you can’t deny that this Mustang is one of the meanest—and fastest—examples around.
