An Agera RS, but more special
When Monterey Car Week opens up its doors this Friday, alongside the multi-million dollar classics will sit something new from Koenigsegg - an Agera. But this Agera isn’t the same one we saw introduced in 2011, nor is it the hardcore One:1 we saw introduced in 2014.
The Agera XS is essentially just an Agera RS, but somehow more special than that. It’s the first example to be fully homologated for road use in the United States, and comes with a number of unique interior and exterior cues, per request of the owner.
The eye-searing orange paint job is dubbed “Karosserie,” and utilizes a diamond-dust metallic effect to bring out the colour. The new finish is accented by unique aerodynamics, including “the largest rear wing ever fitted to a Koenigsegg.”
The interior follows a similar scheme with black Alcantara, orange contrast stitching, and an exposed carbon fibre center console. Even with all this added equipment, the Agera XS tips the scales at just 1,395 kilograms (3,075 pounds). Power comes from a 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 1,160 horsepower, which is mated to a seven-speed paddle-shift transmission.
All this beautiful Swedish speed will be on display at Pebble Beach August 19-21.
