Jaguar is putting its new F-Type through the paces - loud noises included
A new Jaguar F-Type is expected in 2018, just five years after the first-generation was launched. Though we’ve already seen a few spy shots of that upcoming model, this is the first time we're seeing it in motion – and on the Nurburgring, no less.
With a healthy amount of camouflage, it’s hard to tell exactly what is different from the outgoing model, but there are a few telling signs. You can distinguish the new headlights, which show off LED bulbs, the centre bar in the grille is thicker, and the front bumper is smoother than the current generation. It's almost reminiscent of the outgoing XK.
As is the case with any F-Type, the sound on this one is glorious, leading us to believe there’s a hefty V8 under the hood. Even though the V8 will remain a fixture in the upper-level "R" trim, rumors suggest that the new F-Type could go with a smaller, four-cylinder entry-level option to compete with the Porsche 718 Boxster, which was launched just this year.
For now, sit back and enjoy the sounds of one very angry F-Type.
